From Phil:
"Here are the photos of the Chicago Highland Rifles that I thought you would like to see. They were taken on Sunday, September 9th, 2007 in Lisle Illinois. On that Sunday, the Chicago Highland Rifles were tasked with providing an Honor Guard with duty piper and duty drummer in support of the American Veteran’s Travelling Tribute Vietnam Wall. The Ross Bishop VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars - the US equivalent of the Royal British Legion - webmaster) Post 5696, in concert with the Village of Lisle, the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, the Lisle Police Department, hosted this tribute from September 6th through 9th.
The Chicago Highland Rifles conducted a guard mount and then stood guard over the Wall from 14:00 until 16:00 hours on the 9th.
In the first picture called: “Relieving the Guard”, Colour Sentry Jim Dickie (left) takes the place of Colour Sentry Tom Chisholm who then marches to join the Relief Detail.
In the second picture, called “Posting the Relief 1”, The CSM of the Chicago Highland Rifles, (me) marches the Relief Detail with Color Sentries Tom Chisholm, Ed Docekal and Keith Tomes with Duty Piper David Cormalleth and Duty Drummer, Drum Sergeant Rich Berndt to the next post on the Wall to relieve that guard.
In the third picture, the Relief Detail has halted and the on-guard Color Sentry, Ron Marcin, and detail exchange salutes before the relief colour sentry is posted.
In the last picture, the new on guard Colour Sentry, Keith Tomes, Rests on his Arms Reversed.
The reliefs continued every 15 minutes from 14:00 until 16:00 hours.
