Note:
On 24th August 1979 the Queen's Own Highlanders grievously lost our Commanding Officer Lt Col DNA Blair and his signaller, LCpl Vic MacLeod. They were murdered at Warrenpoint along with 16 soldiers from 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA). 1 QO HLDRS had an informal link or affiliation with 2 PARA and the current Chief of the General Staff (General Sir Mike Jackson) and the Colonel of the Regiment are in the process of formalising this affiliation again. Further news to follow.
