We now have a fine memorial to ensure that our 33-year existence will not be forgotten. Our thanks for this must go to Association Chairman, Lt Col James Murray, ably assisted by Maj David Grant, Maj Edward Usborne, Maj Maurice Gibson and Brenda Ross at Association HQ in Cameron Barracks. A great deal of hard work by them with the inevitable setbacks over a long period, has resulted in statues being in place at the National Arboretum and now Inverness.

Yesterday was great, familiar faces, blue hackles, great craic, brilliant Pipes and Drums and friends all around as we paid our respects and remembered absent friends.

A fitting end to a very productive period for the Regimental Association under the leadership of Col James. Thank you for all that you have achieved.

We welcome Lt Col Peter Watson as his successor as Chairman of the Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons) Regimental Association and I ask you all to give Peter your support and to do your bit to ensure that the Regimental Association continues to function at its best. CFGB
